Reference Recordings的目錄中並不常見鋼琴獨奏的專輯，不過他們所發行的鋼琴獨奏專輯可說是張張經典，輯輯抵買，每一張都是鋼琴獨奏的示範級錄音。被稱為「鋼琴家中的鋼琴家」的野島實（Minoru Nojima）在日本以鋼琴神童之姿發跡，後追隨歐柏林（Lev Oborin）、Constance Keene 以及 Abram Chasins 等鋼琴大師學習，在 1969 年一舉奪下范克萊本國際鋼琴大賽首獎更讓他為世人所熟知。1986 年他在 RR 所灌錄的「Nojima Plays Liszt」（RR-25）更是讓他聲勢如日中天，這張專輯便是延續上一張專輯的成功經驗，再度由錄音大師 Keith O.
